How To Take Measurements for African Prints

One of the most important things to remember about African fabrics is that the majority of them are non-stretch. We always keep this in mind when choosing designs to sew, making sure to allow some give for comfort. See below for how we take measurements for hats and clothing.

Taking Measurements for Fitted African Print Hats:

Our handcrafted hats are made from breathable, cotton, non-stretch fabrics. They are fitted and can be made in the following sizes for adults:

XL - 24 3/8” (62cm)
L - 23 5/8” (60cm)
M - 22 3/4” (58cm)
S - 22” (56cm)

Here’s how to take your measurements and learn your size:

Measure the circumference by placing the tape measure across the top of the forehead and around the bottom of the back of the head. Determine what feels comfortable around your head and consider different ways that you wear your hair.
