New International Retail Partner: The Shop Accra in Osu, Accra, Ghana

Thanks to a grant called Export MD here in Maryland, we’re working on exciting new ways to bring AFROTHREADS to customers worldwide!

At the end of March 2022, we became one of the latest brands to be carried by The Shop Accra, one of our favorite places to visit in Ghana.

It was a very special moment for us. We were first introduced to The Shop Accra in 2018 by our friend Rab Bakari, a Ghanaian music pioneer who passed away earlier this year. Rab inspired us to follow our hearts and never stop exploring.

The Shop Accra allows us to do just that: explore unique African brands and products, collect art and books, learn about new music, enjoy chilled palm wine, and just appreciate being in Ghana and in the historic, bustling neighborhood of Osu.

We’re currently restocking our decorative African Print Coasters at The Shop, and we’ll be adding additional merchandise later this year!

Thanks so much to everyone supporting our growth overseas. We are super grateful to be part of such an impactful company based in Africa.

Check out images of The Shop below and make sure to share this news with anyone you know in Ghana!

The shop offers a restaurant/bar featuring locally made food and drinks, like this palm wine.

Our coasters are available exclusively at The Shop Accra and at in-person pop up events. Make sure to join our mailing list at the bottom of this page for updates on our upcoming pop-up in Baltimore later this month.

You can use our coasters to add some decor to your dresser. Pictured here with locally-made beard balm.

One of our favorite ways to use our decorative coasters is underneath candles.

Excited to join the many unique brands offered by The Shop Accra, which also hosts various events and workshops in their space, organizes bike tours, and offers book clubs for the community. Visit their website to learn more.
