Try This Easy Robe Pattern with your African Print Fabrics

Looking for a Beginner-friendly sewing pattern that’s great for showing off your African Ankara fabric?

Check out my version of the Carnegie Robe from Sewing and the City. I had just under 3 yards of this fancy print we sourced from Ghana, so I chose to sew View A. Since I’m tall, I lengthened the arms.

Printing this pattern at home was simple; I put on some Mary J. Bilge while gluing together the 30+ pieces of paper. The instructions were easy to follow and it gave me some more experience sewing pockets and neck bands.

Overall I was very pleased with how it came out. Cotton African Ankara prints are great for this look because of how breathable they are. With our quality fabrics, this robe will last and it can be styled for stepping out as well!
