Watch AFROTHREADS in a Music Video: Sunny Cowell feat. TT the Artist “Center of Attention”
In the fall of 2019, we had the incredible opportunity to work with Baltimore-based singer and musician Sunny Cowell on her music video “Center of Attention.” The video was shot in Baltimore and highlighted a variety of local businesses. Center of Attention later won Best Music Video at the Indie X Film Fest in Los Angeles, and we couldn’t have been more proud to be involved.

We provided this beautiful kente cloth to the set, which was used as a backdrop in the opening scene.
Our founder Evonne also made an appearance in the video, wearing an outfit and purse made in Ghana. Her role was to play “the other woman,” attempting to steal Sunny’s love interest in the video.
Evonne and Sunny are good friends who met in law school back in 2011.
For the final scene of the video where Sunny performs live, she wears a bright and colorful outfit. We worked with her stylist to identify a headwrap that would complete the look.
Her stylist chose this beautiful green print that we sourced from South Africa, called shweshwe.
