Create Wall Art with Your Fabric Collection: DIY Textile Hanger

Sometimes we buy fabric without knowing exactly what we’re going to make with it, and it’s too beautiful to be folded up in a pile somewhere! We found the perfect tutorial that allows us to create wall art by hanging multiple fabrics on a 6 foot wooden dowel.

We love the details: the leather straps, the brass screws & washers, and the fact that this allows us to display different textures and colors during different times of the year.

Check out the link below, as well as some ways we’ve used our hanger. Enjoy!

African Ankara prints that we sourced from Ghana. We love how this warms up the room and how the metallic accents match the screws & washers!

Handwoven Kente Cloth sourced from Bonwire, located in Ghana’s Ashanti Region. The dowel is sturdy enough to hang heavy fabrics like this!

Having black and white African Ankara prints are a must in our Ghanaian culture. These colors are worn the day after funerals to celebrate the life of the one we lost. These neutral colors also look great in the home year round.
